After all, hotels can’t remain closed forever and adjustments are necessary to make profits. Without jeopardizing their future, many hotels are discovering creative ways to generate revenue despite the pandemic.

 

Remote office space

With many people being quarantined inside their homes, they often don’t have seclusion and desk space that an office provides.  In order to limit distractions, many hotels are offering up rooms as remote office spaces. With most dine-in coffee shops being closed, the options are limited. Hotels can provide day rates that allow for social distancing, while marketing their high-speed internet and clean workspaces.

 

Localize and offer staycations

Travel plans are getting canceled left and right. If you’re in a location with a limited number of cases, locals may be looking for a break from their house. Since people are more reluctant to do get out because of COVID-19, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve addressed your prevention plan in place across all critical channels. Once potential guests are at ease, you can begin advertising staycations. Marketing to local markets can potentially combat occupancy issues by reaching locals that are hesitant to travel.

 

Upsell and promote premium packages

Now is the time to maximize revenue. With each booking you can offer additional amenities. Figure out which one’s are the most marketable for your property during this time. Since people are worried about being in contact with others, this may mean upselling your restaurant’s room-service amenities.

Along with that, you should have a strategy for those that cancel or rebook. Many hotels are sending out discount packages for those that are canceling.
