INSIGHTS

Companies who invest in hiring the right people, have maximized returns. At JDI our goal is to help you build a passionate team that ignites growth within your company.

Kirby Brown, General Manager for Hyatt Place, has been navigating through the pandemic to protect the future of his property. This Bloomington, Indiana hotel temporarily shut down and furloughed most of its staff. With restrictions and safety procedures rippling through the industry, Kirby has been serving on the frontlines with the remainder of his team.

His small crew has been working around the clock to source leads and make reservations. Management continues to prioritize active communication with their team by forecasting expectations and providing frequent updates.

For Kirby, the hardest part of this unbelievable time has been the anticipated impact on his team. Throughout this process, he’s received many phone calls and text messages coming from the very associates that he was forced to furlough, all checking in to make sure he was doing okay.

“The overwhelming sense of true care and compassion is what makes hospitality great and unique,” said Kirby. “This pandemic has done irreversible damage, but it cannot touch true hospitality, and I find that very uplifting.”

Romans 12:13 has been a verse of encouragement for Kirby through these difficult times.

Thank you, Kirby, for working hard with your staff to ensure a positive future for your teammates and guests!
