Not a day goes by where we don’t hear information on coronavirus and its negative impact. With all the noise, it is easy to forget that other crises can arise. Brian Williams, General Manager of the Courtyard Charlotte Gastonia in North Carolina, is grateful that he can continue to serve people during times of need. Even in the direst of circumstances, there is almost always a silver lining.

When asked to share his story, Brian immediately thought of one of the families residing at his property. Recently, a family was forced to relocate after their house burned to the ground. During a time where everything is shut down, it can be challenging to find a place to stay. Luckily, the Courtyard Charlotte Gastonia has remained open.

The family arrived at Courtyard intending to only stay a night. They found a nearby extended-stay hotel with decent pricing to move into for the time being. After getting the chance to meet with them and hear their story, Brian realized that the cleanliness of the hotel they were moving to was not up to par. Having sanitary living conditions is important under normal circumstances, but crucial amid a pandemic.

Wanting to help in any way he can, Brian immediately reached out to his team at AD1 Global. They were able to offer a rate comparable to the extended stay, with the quality of a Marriott.

While the family has been digging through the rubble and piecing their life back together, having a comfortable place to stay has helped ease this difficult transition.

“Their insurance company is helping them find more permanent accommodations but until then [they] said they feel quite comfortable and at home here,” said Brian. “This is where they’ll be until their other place is ready.”

Brian is proud to work for a company like AD1 Global, which gives him the flexibility to be a humanitarian and help when necessary.

“I chose that story because it served as a reminder to me that these double shifts and 6-day work weeks I’ve had to do because of lay-offs, don’t seem as hard when you consider someone out there has it much harder.”

During times of uncertainty, the best elements of human nature prevail. Thank you, Brian, for being a mogul of hospitality and lending a hand where it is needed!
