The hotel industry has had its share of struggles with limited staffing, but everyone at the Courtyard Los Angeles Westside has stepped up. Like many hotels, staff members have taken on multiple duties to maintain business. Sam Sahrai, General Manager, has been vigilant in stepping up to the plate when needed.
Courtyard employees have put in extra time to help the traveling nurses, caregivers, and those who are traveling to help the vulnerable. On an individual level, associates have been taking care of the elderly family members and volunteering to purchase food and necessities for those who can’t leave their homes.
“Everyone is going above and beyond,” said Sam. “It is hard to pinpoint one particular person or story, but throughout the day we are comforting the guests that are distraught for different situations they are going through.”
What they have seen is an outpouring of support from the community and staff members. The spirit of giving and sharing has been at an all-time high. As they continue to practice safe distancing, staff members at the Courtyard property continue to provide service for those in need.
“We salute our healthcare workers in the front line risking their lives to try to help others in need,” said Sam.
Sam has been doing everything he can to support medical professionals, working 12 or more hours a day to protect the team and guest. Although there has been a lot of anxiety, people have been grateful to continue having access to the hotel.
Thank you Sam for your contribution to industry and lending a helping hand where it’s needed!
