Make sure you show up on time, are dressed appropriately and prepared with any materials that were requested prior to the interview. Don’t overshare details from your personal life, even if you’ve developed good repartee. Apart from that, always stay present. Your attitude should convey that this interview is a top priority.
Enthusiasm
Your enthusiasm for the position is going to stand out to hiring managers. Your desire to work for their organization has brought you this far. Make sure it continues to come through in your interview and thank you note.
Before you’re interview come up with a few reasons why you like the company and tie that in with your experience. Hiring managers like when you’re able to clearly establish why you will be a great asset for the company.
Skillset
It’s important not to embellish things on your resume. At some point in your interview where you’ll be required to provide examples. You want to establish credibility through your past experiences. If you fall short in certain areas, be honest about it and share your plan of attack.
Culture fit
Lastly, most interviewers are trying to gauge how you’ll fit into their company culture. Some companies have a “work hard, play hard” mentality, while others are more laid back. Go into your interview being yourself, after all, you also want to be able to envision yourself growing with the company.
