You make your way through the interview in flying colors. First, congrats! But now what? You probably know very well that it’s time to get home and come up with a well-constructed thank you email to send to the person or people you interviewed with. Here is a go-to template we developed that you can work off of in your next thank you email:
Hello [Person You Interviewed With],
Thank you very much for meeting with me today. I enjoyed learning about the team and the actual position in more detail. I am very excited about the opportunity to be a part of [company] and help [attract more guests, increase our market share, etc.] with the team.
I look forward to hearing from you about the next steps in the hiring process. If you have any questions or need anything, please feel free to contact me.
This is a simple email that will get the job done; but if you want to go above and beyond, you can add a few more sentences. Lines like, “I look forward to [whatever it is you’re looking forward to that is going to bring value to the company]” always go a long way and they reiterate the things you do best!
Another way to standout in your thank you is by sending a handwritten note. You definitely want to be sure about this beforehand. This works better for interviewers who are more traditional, but if you feel it will work then go for it.
Regardless of how you do it, there is no doubt that sending a thank you message in a timely fashion is important in the hiring process.
