INSIGHTS

Companies who invest in hiring the right people, have maximized returns. At JDI our goal is to help you build a passionate team that ignites growth within your company.

You may have asked yourself the question, what is the difference between a leader and a manager? At JDI Search, we are deeply committed to embodying the principles and practices of servant leadership, and this absolutely manifests in our work. We believe that the answer to the difference between hotel management and leadership is not so much an either/or resolution but, rather, is about finding common ground and creating harmony in the work.

Leadership

At JDI Search, leadership, especially in hotel management, is more than just “being in charge.” We believe that leaders are in place to serve their cohort, which is why we focus so intently on our principle of servant leadership. Additionally, we believe that leaders are pioneers. It is the job of the leader to shape visions and goals, helping each and every member of the team to collaborate with one another and make the team stronger than ever.

At JDI Search, we also believe that leaders should remain positive and optimistic, focusing largely on possibility rather than what lies in the way. Leaders are learners in our model of servant leadership: people who live by example and with consistency.

Management

With all of these qualities of leaders, you may be asking yourself, where do all the day-to-day tasks in running a hotel fit in? Those fit in under hotel management. Management involves planning work and overseeing its execution, as well as keeping track of progress by being a positive facilitator for overall growth.

A Balancing Act?

It doesn’t have to be rocket science, but it is true that not every strong leader will also be a strong manager. In our model of servant leadership, we strive to ensure that we encompass the right balance of creativity, vision, and success, which are key components of both leadership and management, in all we do at JDI Search.
